Taking place between July 31st and August 7th 2010 Cowes Week is known throughout the World as the home of international yacht racing. Cowes Week was established during the late 19thcentury and is described as the greatest regatta of its kind in the world. The event sees an influx of around 1000 competing yachts together withsome 8000 sailors along with thousands of spectators and the worlds media. Cowes Week is now a must attend event in the social and corporate hospitality calendar alongside Wimbledon, Ascot and the British Grand Prix.
A typical Cowes Week now has forty classes of racing, each with their own starts and individual courses; the number of boats taking part in 2009 was approximately 900. Classes range from the small day sailors up to the Worlds largest and fastest Grand Prix racing yachts. Cowes Week is a unique participation event as amateur and corporate crews have the opportunity to take on the some of the Worlds finest professional sailors from the Americas Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and the Olympics.

Cowes Week Experience Club- an affordable day at Cowes Week
The Experience Club from official hospitality providers, offers an affordable corporate day out at Cowes Week, with a wide range of VIP hospitality benefits for individuals and corporate groups. The Experience Club is a purpose built private lounge located in the heart of the marina village in Cowes Yacht Haven providing the perfect hospitality base for you and your guests.
There’ll be interactive sailing activities in The Experience Club and you‘ll have plenty of time if you want to explore the event enjoying some of the live entertainment, retail therapy in Cowes, and watching the race starts under cannon fire from under the battlements of the Royal Yacht Squadron; one of the world’s most prestigious yacht clubs. Back at base, the balcony of the private lounge overlooks the marina where the racing yachts are moored providing you with a fantastic view of the hustle and bustle as the teams prepare their boats and then return from a hard days racing. Here you can escape the crowds within the relaxed environment of The Experience Club, grab a bite to eat from the buffet, enjoy a beer or glass of wine and soak up the atmosphere.
A private 8 man RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat), capable of speeds in excess of 50mph, will be on standby - complete with professional skipper - to take you on an exhilarating RIB blast around the Solent so that you can enjoy the yacht racing action up close.
At 4pm, time will be called at The Experience Club bar and you’ll have the chance to enjoy the stories being shared by the crews after a hard-days racing in the main bar areas, and soak up the famously electric “après-sail” atmosphere of the event until late into the evening
