Best Beaches In Hampshire & Dorset

Barton-On-Sea – 9.1 Miles From Careys Manor

Visit for stunning cliff top walks with views out to the Isle of Wight and Hengistbury Head. Simply relax on the shingle beach with a picnic or follow the shoreline up to Highcliffe Beach or the other way to Milford Beach.

Mudeford – 12.3 Miles From Careys Manor

Home to some of the most expensive beach huts in the country, park at Mudeford Quay and catch the ferry to Mudeford Sandspit for great views to the Isle of Wight and Needles across the Solent. The beach extends off the ancient headland of Hengistbury Head with the whole area designated a Site of Nature Conservation Interest. Water sports are available at the harbour side the beach

Highcliffe Castle & Beach – 10.9 Miles From Careys Manor

Once the holiday home of Harry Selfridge, founder of London department store, Selfridges, Highcliffe castle is a Grade 1 listed Gothic style Georgian mansion with gardens laid out by Capability Brown.

Highcliffe Castle will be open to visitors from Sunday to Thursday, 10am to 5pm (last entry 4pm) and you can buy tickets online here. You can then while away the rest of you day  on Highcliffe Beach, accessed by a sloping zig zag path, simple for wheelchairs or pushchairs or take the steps adjacent to the Castle car park.
