New Forest Folk Festival
3rd – 7th July
The ‘small, family-run festival with big names.’ Discover a friendly festival centred around folk music with workshops, singarounds, poetry, as well as food tents, beer and traders selling everything from crafts to antiques. Find this festival at the edge of the New Forest National Park, in Plaitford, Romsey, just a 26-minute drive from our Hampshire hotel.
Make it the best of both, a festival weekend and a relaxing break; get yourself a day ticket and head out for a day of folk music and wholesome local-festival vibes, then head back to the comfort of your room at our New Forest hotel to rest and unwind before dinner in one of our three restaurants. Follow up your festival fun with a day in the sun, forest walks or cycles, or head to the spa for a day of ultimate relaxation.
Winchester Hat Fair 2024
5th July – 7th July
‘The UK’s longest running festival of Outdoor Arts’ and street performance is back, and promises to be an extravaganza. Beginning with the Carnival and followed by circus, theatre, music and dance from professionals, local community groups and young talent. The festival is celebrating its 50th birthday and will take place in the centre of England’s old capital, the beautiful city of Winchester, Hampshire. The Hat Fair borrows its name from the tradition of a performer holding out a hat following a performance to collect donations from their audience.
Lymington Seafood Festival
12th – 14th July
A foodie festival in the charming market town of Lymington created for the seafood lovers, and a local festival we’re certainly looking forward to, as our very own chef Dylan James will be heading to the ‘Chefs Demo Stage’ for a demonstration of his Linguine Vongole recipe. A delightfully fragrant crab bisque comprised of lemongrass, ginger and coriander with his delicious handmade linguine pasta.
Discover stands and stalls ‘selling pretty much every fishy delight’ you could dream of, ready to be perfectly paired with local craft beers, as well as a special collaboration between Lymington Gin and English sparkling wines by Hattingley Valley. The fun kicks off on Friday with tribute band The Fleetwood Mac Experience.
The New Forest & Hampshire County Show
30th July – 1st August
The show that’s been growing for more than 100 years; a much-loved favourite for locals and visitors drawn to the showground for competitions and opportunities to get involved and the main arena for unforgettable displays including the Grand Parade of Livestock, Show Jumping and the Tractor Tug of War.
A 5-minute drive from our New Forest hotel, make it a stress-free weekend break and stay with us so you don’t miss a thing, or bookend your New Forest Show with some time to relax whether that means simply reading a good book beside the pool, sightseeing or spa-going.
Stompin’ on the Quomps
Saturday 3rd August
Seeking an escape from the city? Head to a small and friendly, unticketed smooth Jazz Festival that was established 30 years ago. Based in the quaint harbour town of Christchurch, Dorset, on the outskirts of the New Forest National Park, stompin’ on the Quomps is a local favourite; head over for a day beside the quay with a picnic blanket to enjoy soothing jazz vibes, a selection of food stalls and local crafts and traders.
The New Forest Food Festival
17th – 18th August
Be one of the first to experience the New Forest Food Festival, debuting in 2024; it invites you to dive into the larder that is our National Park for some of the best local produce and makers. Enjoy cookery demonstrations, the artisan food market, pop-up foodie favourites and local crafts, artists and traders. Taking place on the edge of the New Forest National Park at the Hinton Admiral Events Field, in Hinton Admiral, Hampshire, a 20-minute drive from our New Forest hotel.
Southampton International Boat Show 2024
13th – 22nd September
Book a New Forest break and go from country to coast in just minutes. A 45-minute train ride from our village of Brockenhurst or a 35-minute drive will get you to “Britain’s biggest and best festival of boating”. Jam-packed with exhibitors, displays, attractions and activities covering everything from paddleboards, diving and kayaks, to catamarans and superyachts. There’s even the Shipyard music stage and food court for classic summer festival vibes. It’s a show not to be missed.
When it’s time to slow down the pace, head back to the tranquillity of our New Forest National Park, and the enjoy the homely touches and calm of your bedroom. Time to freshen up before a cocktail in the lounge and dinner at Cambium perhaps…
