Why We Love Christmas Breaks In The New Forest

Snow-dusted bracken, the sparkle of frost in the trees, icy puddles and ponies. Quaint villages decorated with festive cheer and festoon lights inviting you and your loved ones in to warm up in front of warming log fires, just one of many reasons why we love Christmas breaks in the New Forest.

If you need any more, here are a few of ours…

Christmas brings everyone together

If there is a place to bring loved ones, friends or colleagues together it’s here in our beautiful New Forest. A special Christmas setting and a renowned Christmas party venue for all celebrations, whether you’re gathering your nearest and dearest for an intimate dinner or planning a merry party with your work colleagues.

We have two party nights to choose from, the Careys Manor Christmas Ball, inviting you to don fancy frocks, as sophistication meets traditional festive cheer, or Le Blaireau’s ‘Forever Disco’ party night, encouraging you to dust off those flares and brush up on your night fever moves.

Our party nights offer the perfect opportunity for these reunions, with merriment, good food and relaxing overnight stays – not to mention a hearty cooked breakfast the next morning.

Time to relax and indulge

We love Christmas in the New Forest because it’s the perfect place to unwind and relax as you head into the colder months, and it welcomes a little festive indulgence…

When you visit our New Forest hotel for a Christmas break, spend lazy mornings lying in and enjoying wintry walks, then afternoons in front of the fire, perhaps sharing an afternoon tea. Or put on a little Christmas glitz and spend evenings indulging over our chefs’ thoughtfully curated, seasonal menus. A pre-dinner cocktail or an Irish coffee at lunch. Starter, main and dessert – “It’s Christmas after all!.”

Our festive dining menu at Cambium brings together traditional and comforting winter flavours with a modern twist, whilst at our French Bistro Le Blaireau, the festive menu is inspired by regional French cooking.

Rekindle the magic of Christmas

Our Hampshire hotel is always festively decorated so you can rekindle the festive spirit, feel enchanted and get excited by the wonderful season. Admire our 40ft Christmas tree that welcomes you in our reception and reignite that childlike wonder of Christmas. Take in the sparkle of the morning frost and warm chilly hands by the roaring log fire. This is Christmas in the New Forest!

Surrounded by nature

A hearty New Forest breakfast at our Hampshire hotel sets you up with the energy to explore…

Early birds can enjoy brisk morning walks, a most peaceful time to explore forest tracks and trails as others sleep. Listen to the birds, and spot wildlife as it awakens – deer, horses and donkeys could be roaming, and there’s sure to be icy puddles to crack under foot. Head to walking trails at Blackwater on the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive, just a short journey from the hotel. Here you can discover beautiful walking routes surrounded by evergreen trees such as the Douglas Fir and the Giant Redwood. After a warming walk we recommend heading back to the hotel for a lunchtime feast or a Festive Afternoon Tea.

A New Year celebration to remember

Ever considered getting away for a New Year Break. It’s ultimate escape to start the year as you mean to go on… Spend time relaxing, enjoy a hearty breakfast each morning (with delicious options like waffles, fresh fruit, ginger wellness shots, eggs benedict, or a full English) and relish the excuse to get dressed up to see in 2025.

You’re officially invited to a sophisticated Black Tie New Year’s Eve Dinner Party, starting with a Champagne reception, followed by a sumptuous four-course dinner, live casino tables and DJ. Then, celebrate the first day of the New Year with brunch, and a day relaxing at Careys Manor and dinner in one of our three hotel restaurants before checking out on the 2nd.

Now that’s how to start a new year!
